what to do with my reunion fabric . . .

I recently ordered and received a Layer Cake & a Jelly Roll of 'Reunion' by Sweetwater for Moda . . . love it!!! However, i assume i am going to need a "background" fabric, maybe a solid, to use with whatever pattern i end up using. So, has anyone used this line and what did you use?
Also, any patterns you can suggest to show off the colorway using the cake & the roll (would like to use it all if possible) into one quilt - please advise!!!!!
