Question Beeswax thread conditioner. What is it used for??

I noticed today in the daily specials beeswax thread conditioner. What does one do with that? And, I guess, how? Thanks.

If you run your thread through it, it helps keep the thread from tangling up (hand sewing).

I am hand piecing a Grandma's Flower Garden. Easier to
    sew with it.
