Default New Here from So Cal!

Hi y'all! It's a new year so I decided to do a new thing and finally join the forum here! I've been enjoying Jenny's tutorials for a few years now and been a happy customer at MSQC (best service anywhere!) as well, but kept forgetting there was a forum. I'm very choosy about my social media and this looked like a nice place to have a cuppa and share the passion of quilting.

I took my first quilting class back in 2002 I think...but it only took me as far as piecing and sandwiching and I did't know the first thing about the actual quilting (and I was also homeschooling 2 very active little boys) so I put it aside and took up the more portable craft of knitting for several years. Fast forward 10 years and having recently found myself inspired to sew again - thanks to the discovery of vintage sewing machines - and wanting to finish my quilt. I finally got up the courage and completed it a couple of years later. After that I've never looked back as they say. I was smitten with quilting and still am. I am still learning new things about sewing and quilting all the time so I hope to learn things here as well as share what I know.

    Annie

Hi Annie, welcome to the forum. I'm co- homeschooling my grandson. His great grandmother is the other in the co. We swap days, so neither of us is overwhelmed.

I know you'll enjoy being here. Jump on in and have a good time!

Hi Annie, and welcome from Long Island. I usually start each morning here with my cup of coffee a great way to start the day!

There are a lot of talented ladies and gentlemen here that can help with any questions you have. I have found them to be very generous in sharing their knowledge.

Hello there from Wisconsin. There's a couple vintage sewing machine groups on Facebook that you might be interested in if you haven't seen them already. It sounds like you already have done lots of sewing, and you will find lots of ideas here to motivate you. There are also some groups here that you could join, Fabulous Finishers to inspire you to complete your UFO's, Secret Santa, I think there used to be a 1930's group too, and others.

Welcome Annie from Canada's capital. It's a bit colder than Where you are, but we have been enjoying unseasonably good weather.

I also start my day with a cup of coffee in the sunroom CEhecking forum threads. Check out the groups. There may be something that interests you.

Enjoy life and do what makes you happy. Everything else will follow.

Every day I try to do one thing that challenges my comfort zone.

Welcome, I'm also in California! You'll note that my bio says Northern California, but I'm in the process of moving to Southern California. On any given day, you never know which half of the state I'll be in. Hopefully our Northern California home sells soon.

By the way, I'm one town east of Eleanor Burns!
Toni ... If I keep sewing long enough, will they make their own dinner?
