I made this one for my cousins. Only the pattern I used the shirts were folded origami style. Great pattern for Hawaiian patterns! I plan on making a wall hanging for myself!

I made a quilt f or my aunt from her husband's flannel, soft cotton, and denim button up shirts. I stabilized all the fabric except the heaviest denim, and was glad I did, even if it wasn't strictly necessary. Some of the shirts were pretty well worn, so it helped make them feel like they were going to last longer in a much used quilt.

Yes that is the pattern my daughter and I used. She made hers with Hawaiian shirts and most were rayon. I think she used SF101 stabilizer on hers. She was only given 7 shirts but she made a lap quilt using the Sunshine pattern, a wall hanging ( using 4 panels from the Fireworks pattern, https://www.connectingthreads.com/fi...mpaign=PPCGNBS) and a shirt front pillow for the widow of her friend who was known for only wearing Hawaiian shirts. It turned out great.

The rayon shirts may be fine with no stabilizer, I just think it is a little easier to work with when it is less stretchy and slippery. Your choice!

I used tropical print Cotton fat quarters for mine, and made it bed size. It still isn’t quilted yet, my New Years resolution to get it quilted this year!
