        Re: tea towels

I haven't embroidered my tea towels but I do add a decorative border. I have made my own towels of waffle weave fabric. I have picked up some deals over the years ($2-5m). Fabrics are about 60" wide, so I get 4/metre or 1 1/8 yard. They wash up beautifully.

I have bought a few from M* to see how they wash, a bit too soft and wrinkly for my taste, but ok for drying.
Enjoy life and do what makes you happy. Everything else will follow.

I have a picture of one in my album called little things of a Valentine rabbit if you care to see the towel.

Being the recipient of a few of Cathy's beautiful embroidered tea towels, I can attest that the quality of the towels is excellent.

the one change I made on Ginny's was to use a plate to cut a curve so the towel lies against your neck better. Glad you like it Ginny. I didn't know if you were a gnome person or not.

This store has lots of toweling fabric by the yard. I've never made towels but I shop here frequently and it's a great shop! They seem to have a nice selection, and it's Moda.

They have a lot of selections Cokie. Quite pretty and some seem reasonable for this type of thing.

Was watching my DH BBQ and had a flash. He needs a boa with a heavy-duty potholder, maybe denim?, on one end and a towel on the other. Something manly of course.
