Just returned from ANOTHER trip to the coast and on the way saw a convoy of these trucks hauling our precious cotton. I don't know if they were taking them to the port to ship or to a processing mill, but was amazed. The cotton was blowing out of the trucks in little tufts.

That's amazing. Hopefully it will be used for more quilting cotton.

    It's beautiful!

We would pass cotton fields on the way to Howard's aunts. It's so pretty in the field, too!

Yup, lots of little poufs escape to the road side. During harvest of cotton in Texas, this is a common sight. I wish I had a vacuum that would only vacuum the little poufs and no debris. I would figure outa way to process it into something!

We don't often think too much about the journey from raw material in the fields to the finished product we are using- and the many steps along the way. I find this whole process amazing. I wonder how many yards of finished fabric is on a trailer load of cotton bales.
