Just made a bunch to gift ... making singles to use as mug rugs.

No special fabric folding pen and used the regular Dritz 1 7/8 inch glass head pins. I'm pressing not ironing so no chance of pulling the pins out. I noticed the small glass head seems to allow more fabric contact with the iron. I don't know if the silicone heads would do any better. Mine have been coming out perfectly fine. Thanks Judy for posting. I planned to use the glass head pins as well because...well I already had them and the silicone ones were sold out. Glad to know they work fine and that the singles are a good size for mug rugs/coasters. Have been trying to think of a coaster set to make for my daughter for Christmas. Think I can whip a set of these out in no time. My template has been waiting patiently until after Christmas.

I miss my quilting buddy who goes to Florida for winter. She called yesterday and also got the template, so we're planning to work on a project together when she gets back home.

Enjoy life and do what makes you happy. Everything else will follow.

Every day I try to do one thing that challenges my comfort zone.

Received my templates earlier this week, and even though I have a bunch of Christmas projects to finish, I just had to try it out. I made 8 coasters for my Niece as a house warming gift. They went together quickly and easily. I did a bit of FMQ to embellish and flatten them out. The picture shows the edges curved, but that's from being tied with the ribbon. Do enjoy them!Click image for larger version.

Oh I got mine too and can't wait to use them. I love the idea of using a decorative stitch to join them!!! Kudos on the smart idea. Making coasters from individual ones is a stroke of genius!!!! I would never have thought of that....you all are so dang creative.

I received my Hexagon Templates and the other Hexagon Template was busted in two places.
I called MSQC, and they were so sweet.....promised to get a new set to me out ASAP.
I want to start doing something with these after Christmas Day is over and I am basically alone, so I need something to do. I was very impressed with the video Jenny, Natalie and Misty made with these new templates!
