Picking a pattern for group quilt

I have been put in charge of a quilt for a group to make. Everybody sews different. How do I pick a pattern so the blocks will fit together. I know the same block will be all different sizes. Thanks

I would look for a pattern that if the blocks are trimmed the pattern is not lost. Something that doesn't have matching points from block to block might work.

We made Jenny’s “Night Sky” tutorial as our group quilt for the forum at our last retreat. Since the HSTs are all trimmed, the blocks ended up pretty close in size.

Just some suggestions for sizing each block for the quilt---

Perhaps you could state the size of the unfinished block should be.. Then trim all blocks to the same size.

Or just adding a sashing to each, then cut them so all are the same size. .

9 patch. Then whomever is putting it all together will have to square up everything before. This could also be acheived with sashing between the blocks.

The Lucky Stars pattern by Terry Atkinson. The blocks are made purposefully oversize with floating star points. They are all trimmed to size. This has been made for several group quilts and the results are always nice.
