    Castles "Castellers"

Good morning everyone, I hope you are well and that the snow and the cold do not cause them much inconvenience. The tradition that I am going to tell today is over two hundred years old, and in those years some town of61 - CASTELLERS - TARRAGONA.jpg62 - CASTELLERS - LA COLLA VELLA.jpg63 - CASTELLERS - FUERZA DE TODOS.jpg64 - CASTELLERS - LA SUBIDA.jpg65 - CASTELLERS - COMPETICION.jpg66 - CASTELLERS -TARRAGONA...jpg67 - CASTELLERS - DESDE LO ALTO.jpg68 - CASTELLERES DE VILLAFRANCA.jpg69-- CASTELLERS- ROPA TIPICA.jpg69 - CASTELLERS - EL ARTE DE LOS CASTELLERS.jpg the Northem Mediterranean began to celebrate during the festivites domonstrations of strength and balance in which many people from the town participated and called "Castellers" o Castles and that have reached our days as an exhibition of Strength and Unity to achieve among all that these balances are not broken. The motto of the "Castellers" is Strength - Balance - Value - Prudence- and currently there are performances of several "Collas" or groups to show who does it best. In the current performances the participants of each group are dressed in a T-shirt a different color (blue, red, green etc) white pants and black belt and also those who go up to the end wear a protective hat similar to a helmet. As you can see from the photos, the support of all the people who form the base is important and demonstrates how fantastic things can be done among all. Thanks for looking

Oh, how interesting! I am amazed at how many people work together to form the base of that human tower.

So cool. As a retired engineer I was fascinated to see the people using their bodies to form engineering principles like flying buttresses.
