    Default Monday is here!!

Good morning friends. Well yes it is Monday and I have nowhere to be today. And that's a good thing. I am trying to remember what I did Saturday. Not much it seems. A friend did drop off some 'stuff' that she is getting rid of.
This person liked to do cross stitch and I do not. There was a variety of things. I went through it but I don't think I will keep very much if any of the 'stuff'. I know she will be bringing more at some point. I told her I would find a new home for this stuff. Yesterday I was in the sewing room most of the day. I finished a table topper that I was working on. I will get a picture later and I finished the top of Maizyn's quilt. So it was a very productive day. I will try and get the quilt sandwiched today if I can and the table topper too.

Sitting here in the dining room and two ambulances have gone by, that can't be good.

I have no plans to be anywhere this week but heaven knows, those plans can often change.

    Have a great day everyone.
Blessed are the children of the piecemakers for they shall inherit the quilts!

Good morning Monique and all who follow,

I'm happy that we are getting above zero weather and no snow storms. Nowhere to go either today, but I do need to reach my doctor for referral to sleep center. This was recommended by TMJ specialist who also makes appliance for snoring. This might be an option to CPAP if they find I would need one. If I get in, I want to discuss my long dragging bout of stomach issue, cough and cold. I've just had so little energy, it is frustrating. I don't mind laying low a few days, but for weeks, I can't take that.

Yesterday, I sat quietly in sewing room, cutting scraps. I finished one bin, cut into 2 1/2",4"&5" squares and 2 1/2" strips. I got rid of crumbs, which I know I will never use. If anyone wants them, send me a pm before they go to trash Wednesday. I also have a large ziploc of strings, less than 2 1/2" which I may make or donate. I trimmed the batting and backing of one of the quilt, so it's ready to attach the binding. DH continues to put out outdoor lights. I think we have over 2000, and he'es 2/3 done.

We watched the Gray Cup yesterday, and yeah, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers won. Keith Urban was half time show.

I will definitely take it slow today and rest as needed. I feel like a slouch and want to start decorating for xmas, but I need a boost of energy. Oh well, that too shall pass.

    Have an enjoyable day.

Good Morning, Everyone ~ I just checked the updated winter storm warning. Yikes! They're predicting 12" overnight & another 5" tomorrow. This is not good. I'm concerned about DS#2 who has a commute N. about 30 mi. to work in the a.m. He said he's getting up extra early. They're already warning people to travel today & stay home tomorrow. Even the interstate will be affected.

Wow, the retirement reception for the pastor was packed out! All the tables were full; they brought in extra chairs, & people were standing all along the walls. I'm sure we exceeded our occupancy limit. The RSVPs were 275, but I bet at least 300 were there. They served BBQ pork or chicken on buns, salads, chips, veggies. There were 2 large sheet cakes & other desserts. A very nice program with a slide show of pics, people sharing from the audience, etc. The church staff gave them a certificate for a week's stay at a pastor's retreat center. A large basket was overflowing with cards & there were numerous gift bags besides mine. This was the first time the pastor's wife had been out socially since her brain surgery & radiation.

DS#2 is coming by after I get home from the stores to check our gutters for leaves. They were checked in Sept., but a lot of leaves have come down since then. I wanted them checked again before the snow storm.

Well, a busy day ahead -- laundry, dr., groc. shopping, etc.

    Good Morning,

Yesterday was spent with my mom and two sisters. We haven't been together with just the four of us for such a long time and it was great. We got mom a new Christmas tree and decorated it. After that we just sat and talked. There is nothing better than being there to support each other in good times and in bad. We laughed and cried. I got home about the same time as hubby from his hunting weekend so I spent the evening in the living room with him.

That being said, I didn't get a single minute in my sewing room. I haven't sewn since last Thursday. Since the grandkids will all be here Wednesday I think I'll just leave everything closed up. I can't believe I'm saying that!!! I'm working in the office today. Maybe if I get done early enough I will sneak in. Who am I kidding, there's no getting done early. I have to deal with insurance and credit card people today. It's going to be a long one.....

    Good Morning!

Today will be a busy day -- LQS at 10 am for my embroidery machine lesson, followed by two memory care visits. We have to be back before the caregiver leaves at 2pm. Tonight we're going to to Longhorn's for supper and discuss which facility we like the best.

Tomorrow, I'm having a late lunch with a dear friend. I may check out a couple of nearby quilt shops in the morning, although I don't need anything. I think the one store might be struggling, they cut their hours last year. They don't stock as much fabric as they used to. They lost some space when they added a couple of long-arms you can rent. My sister was there not too long ago and said she was the only one in store.

Lots to do before today's lesson -- have a great day, everyone!

    Good Morning Everyone.

Mike and I were kind of lazy yesterday afternoon. We went to Ruby Tuesdays for a dessert dinner. My Grandma Phillips would 'treat' everyone to ice cream on Sunday afternoons about once a month. It was a time for everyone to get together and visit. With Jim and Morgan's home group for church meeting a couple of Sunday evenings a month, it's hard to get with them. I doubt that Morgan would approve anyway. So Mike and I usually go out for a dessert dinner about once a month. It's even better when you have a coupon!

My house is still a disaster. Hopefully this is the day to get the furniture moved. Mike goes back to work tomorrow. So I'll have some sort and declutter time for those two rooms.

I have my Christmas quilt on the bed. I'd forgotten how much it slides on the blanket. Every morning it's the pull up and tug over show. It's obvious that Howard isn't there to sleep on his pillow. Isn't it weird, I still put his pillow on his side of the bed. He was funny, he even labeled the tags with our initials so he'd be sure to get his pillow. After 2 years you can tell the difference in the foam pillows.

Robin, I have the SS throw on my sofa. I thought it was going to be an easy job folding it and putting it on the back, but low and behold those grands had a run and hop on the sofa game the other day (stopped after the first two attempts). The sofa had slid into the tea cart and chair that are behind it making part of the sitting area. I had to pull the sofa back to it's proper position and go check the wheels of the tea cart to make sure they weren't tilting over. The quilt is lovely and it looks so Christmasy in my TV area. I know it will be well used.

Well there won't be anything done in my sewing room, unless some kids get busy! I hate it. The fabric I bought for Donna Jordan's napkins is sitting in there ready to go! My fingers are itching to do something!

    Have a creative day!

My sewing room is full of bins with Christmas decor so there will be no sewing for several days.
I will try to get the fall things put away today but it is yearly check up day for the cat and we need to pick up the dog from the vet where she spent the weekend. with the grands here it was just more than I could handle to have her here, too. She loves company way too much, yikes. When it is just us here she is a doll but when anyone visits she goes berserk and the kids are a little afraid of her. The cat on the other hand is scared of the kids and stays hidden when they are here. I have no idea where he goes since the kids sleep in "his" room.

Good morning! Not sure what all this week will bring with the weather that is suppose to come in. So all the plans are kind of up in the air then added to that is the fact that I started getting sick over the weekend and I still don't feel good. I did manage to get into the sewing room and work on a little sewing project. I am not about to start trying to tackle borders or anything that require any thinking as my brain is a little fuzzy from not feeling good. I am hoping to get well quickly. It is never good when Mom is down sick.

    Have a good Monday everyone

    Hi all,

Well morning has passed me by as I was out running errands, bank, post office, delivered an order from the craft fair. Then hubby and I hit BJ's to round up a turkey and trimmings for Thanksgiving. I thought this would be a low key Thanksgiving but the kids and grandkids will all be here, plus one granddog. I always get frazzled before a holiday meal because I want everything to be perfect. Once I know all the dishes come together timewise and tasty then I can relax for the rest of the day and enjoy the family.

Today is a sunny day and a good one temperature wise for all the running. Hard to believe how quickly this year is passing by. Hope to get the tree up next week. Have all my gifts purchased and just have to finish one grandchild's gift. Then it will be on to my cookie baking which I really enjoy. I have a special book with all the must have for Christmas recipes.

Well, time for a cup of coffee and put my feet up for a while and read.

    Wishing everyone a good day!
