    Default Bad Memory!

Am I the only one who orders a pre cut for a specific, or recommended pattern and then by the time I get it has forgotten what I wanted it for? This has absolutely nothing to do with shipping time either. I ordered a jelly roll a couple weeks ago and for the life of me cannot remember which tutorial I wanted it for. Frustrating.

I hear you. Do you get the daily emails? If you keep them, you might be able to find which quilt pattern you wanted to make.

I tag the tutorials I want to make, but forget which fabric I was going to use.

I guess that's all part of the quilting journey.

Every day I try to do one thing that challenges my comfort zone.

Keep a diary or log of what you order & what pattern you had in mind for it. The older we get, the better our forgetters work! LOL!

This has happened to me several times. I just spend some time looking & petting the fabric & an idea comes to me. I don’t really care if it was the original idea or a new one. I just go with the flow.

I have done this so often that this is how I do it now: Print the order page and IMMEDIATELY write down the pattern the order was for. I will do this when ordering several items at once. I list the precuts with the pattern/block, add info on what is the background fabric and also with the backing and binding fabrics. Sometimes I order backings for two different quilts and this way I can remember which one goes with each quilt. When the order comes in I put the fabrics and printout together so they don't get lost. This has helped me A LOT.

This used to happen to me, but now I take a screen picture and email it to myself. I do this when I see a quilt and find out that it’s in a library book. When I pick up the library book I can easily find why I checked out that book. Getting old is brutal but manageable if I remember to email myself.

Thanks for the suggestions ladies. I have taken screen shots and "saved" them to my desktop only to wonder what fabric I had in mind. Printing out the order and making notes on it is a very good idea. Love the clipping tool on my computer too.
