    Default It's Monday all right!!

Good morning friends. I was reading all your weekend posts. Congratulations to all of you who do craft fairs. Sounds like they were all successes.

We had a great date night on Thursday in Kingston. The drive there was brutal. We did have to make a stop in Almonte as hubby received a phone call that a coin he wanted was not available. And lo and behold, if the quilt store isn't directly across the street, LOL!! And yes I did buy a little meter of fabric, it is sunflowers. We had dinner out and enjoyed some live music as well. On Friday we were on the road early and headed out to a mall. There is a Value Village there as well as an antique store. I did buy a small piece of more sunflower fabric and scored an Ottlite for $5.99. We arrived at Phil's around 3. Hubby dropped me off so he could go to yet another antique store. I went with Phil to pick Maizyn up. She didn't know I was coming and her mother had a smyster when I showed up at the door. Priceless, LOL!! She did give me a hug and I was surprised she did that. Hubby surprised her when we got home and pulled in right behind us.

The kitchen lights were burned out. He only uses the light from the range hood. I was trying to do dishes in the dark, so I brought out my Ottlite that I bought. I showed him the 'dirty dishes' that he had previously washed. On Saturday I went out to Canadian Tire and bought two new florescent lights. I now 'see the light', LOL!! I also did a little cleaning for him. His drain was working properly either so we bought some baking soda and vinegar. I did have to get him a plunger as well. The drain is better but he will have to give it a Drano treatment as well.

Saturday afternoon I invited his girlfriend to the movies with Maizyn and I. We went to see Malificent. All in all we had a great weekend.

I have a busy week this week. Victoria's Quilts tomorrow, Wednesday I get my flu shot, Thursday is the Annual Turkey dinner at the Church. I will work clearing tables at that. And that is what my week looks like.

Today is my free day, hubby has to work. I don't know yet what will happen.

    Have a great Monday everyone.
Blessed are the children of the piecemakers for they shall inherit the quilts!

Good Morning Monique and all who follow,

I forced myself out of bed, got ready for home school only to realize I think I sent this weeks math to Nana last week. I hope it's in his folder. Morgan is off today, so home school will start late. I wish I'd realized that before I got up!

Tonight for family dinner, I was planning Chicken and Noodles. The boys said NOOO, Esther said Yeah! Come to find out, they'd had chicken noodle soup for dinner the night before. I have stew beef out, we're still having noodles, but it's going to be beef and noodles. The best part, Publix carries the brand of noodles I like and I don't have to make them this afternoon.

I'll clean up my sewing room this afternoon. I think I'll pull out the baby fabrics and the Tula Pink book again. If I can get the top pulled together this week, before Jim's off for Thanksgiving, I should be able to get a more girlie baby quilt done before the shower 12/1.

It sounds like this year has been the year of the craft fairs! So glad you all are doing well! The Shriner's craft fair is this coming weekend. I hope I'll be able to talk someone into taking me!

    Have a great day!
    Katrina

    Good morning, everyone!

Monique: sounds like you had a wonderful, busy weekend!

Another vacation day today. I'm going to see memory care facility #8. Follow up visits start Thursday. I asked my sister yesterday if she wants to go alone, or if she wants me to go with her. She prefers we go together. I was hoping she would go by herself, I don't want to influence her opinion.

My sister has a doctor's appointment next Monday at 6pm. I'm trying to figure out coverage for Mom and transportation. My sister has a degenerative eye condition and cannot drive at night. I called our usual company Wednesday to see if they could find a caregiver for Mom that evening; she never got back to me. I'm going to call them again today and tell them I need an answer now. Worse case scenario, my sister will have to use senior transportation. I was surprised to see the qualifying age is 60, not 65. They also have a "plus" service for rides after 4pm. Perfect!

This afternoon I need to take care of Mom's CD that came due. I hate dealing with that bank, sometimes they are nice and other times I'm tempted to call a lawyer. They don't like powers of attorney; I imagine there's a history there. After the bank, I think a little retail therapy at Malley's (local chocolate shop) is in order. Their Hawaiian salted caramels are really good.

    Have a wonderful day!

Good Morning, Everyone ~ Monique, it sounds like you had a good week end. Re: sink drains. Knock on wood, we've never had to use Draino. We did have to have the roto rooter job done for the bsmt. drains a few yrs. ago, where he snaked clear out to the street. DH or I snake all the drains every 2 mos. We have a plastic "snake" that we use -- not that long springy wire one. We don't want to damage the plastic (or whatever it is) plumbing. The vinegar & baking soda are good, too, esp. to help eliminate bad odors.

I came right home after church yest. After a quick lunch of 2 hard shelled tacos (Taco Bell), I started right in on the quilt for our retiring pastor. I had to search through my stash to come up with fabric for the backing -- a piece that was long enough without having to piece & the right color. By the end of the day, I had both the top & backing spray starched & pressed, the binding strips sewn together, & the quilt sandwiched & pin basted. I still have to machine baste the perimeter. I also pieced a sample on which to practice FMQ. That still needs to be sandwiched. I should be able to start the FMQ today.

It's supposed to be in the 60's today. It's a mild morning -- 40's. I'm not looking forward to the predicted snow expected Wed. night into Thurs.

    Morning all,
We were up early this morning as we are on dog sitting duty again this week. My son's house has been under renovation so we've had the two dogs here for doggy day care while the sheet rock, spackling, and painting were done last week. This week all the floors downstairs are being refinished so dogs can't be home and they may be here for overnighters.

Today is a drizzly, gloomy day. I got four orders for embroidered towels from the fair Saturday so today will be a good day to hunker down and start them, and start a clean up of the sewing room.

Monique, sounds like you had a nice time on your getaway!

Well, time to get my day started, the boxer is looking at me wanting some attention. She'll sit along side of you all day if you pet her, and when you stop she gives you a gentle nudge for more.

    Wishing all a good day!
Nobody is going to stand up at your funeral and say she had a really expensive sofa and great shoes Life is not about stuff.

A busy week is ahead, two lunch groups, a skin doctor appointment and I need to finish up a couple of things in the sewing room. Just 36 more pearls to sew on the little trees and I will be done with that.
I will start the velvet curtain panels for DS this week I hope, too. He is excited about getting his theater room finished. Actually a basement room with no window, two old couches with slip covers one of which is on bed risers. With the charcoal ceiling and walls it looks kind of good. The curtain panels should go quickly since they won't be lined and I can do the bottom hems with the sewing machine hem stitch.
The 2 grands are spending the weekend here and we are having our Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday. I am looking forward to that.

Good morning everyone. A gloomy one here today. It will be a good day to spend some time in the sewing room. I have a couple of orders from Saturday's fair to get done and I also received a message from a customer about some microwave cozies she would like. I don't need to pick Henry up today so the day is all mine. I already have dinner going in the crockpot.

Monique, sounds like you had a fun weekend. Katrina, have fun picking out some cute girlie fabric. Julie, I hope your visit at the facility goes well today. Joy, I am sure your pastor will treasure that quilt. Cathy, have fun with the pups and at your embroidery machine. Clare, your week sure does sound pretty busy.

I got my sewing room all nice and cleaned up and it is calling my name now so off I go. Have a great day all.

Good morning! Today will be a beautiful day with a high in the mid 70's. Sunny and clear. PG&E has warned us they may cut our power on Wednesday. Sigh. Yesterday I spent the day with my DD her BF and her future mother-in-law and sister-in-law. We were wedding dress shopping. My poor daughter was so sad. I don't know what she is looking for but we haven't found it yet.

Good Morning....It's a gloomy morning following a bad night. Jeff took me to the ER about 8 last night following a sudden onset of vertigo, which I had never had before. It was so bad I feared it may be a precursor to a stroke or other unwanted event. Almost five hours later they released me....labs, EKG, MRI and doctor's exam - Labyrinthine Vetigo. It will likely happen again but at least we know what it is.

On the way home from the ER we ran over something big in the road and thought it was a deer but it turned out to be a tire from a semi. There was no way to avoid it in extreme darkness going very fast. Jeff took the day off to take our truck to be checked for damage. It ripped off our front grille and who knows what it did underneath. One of the perils of living in the country is that roads are always so dark.

I'm going to head for be for a quick nap and see if my head clears up.

Have a great day everyone. Hugs.....

    Good afternoon everyone,

I was here early but had no time to post as I had a dental appt with TMJ specialist. I had issues over 25 years ago, and I feel that it has slowly been creeping back over the years. Stiff jaw, clicking and a lot more of grinding teeth. I abandoned my night guard years ago. Turns out she also address snoring and sleep apnea. So she has recommended that I get my doctor to refer me to sleep center for assessment, then with diagnosis, she can address issue. Either through mouth guard if that's all. Or explore a new alternative to CPAP. I have snored like a lumberjack since I was a teenager, so this would be good.

Then DH & I went to Costco for cat litter and a few other items. It was a zoo. After lunch I visited mom. She was bored as there was no activity yesterday and today. She likes to be around people.

Sunday I put away the remaining stock from craft show, washed the table overs and props. I also pieced the back for a quilt. I have left my name today for a small show at my mom's residence this Saturday. I have no idea if they have any tables available, I know it's late, but woth a shot.

It looks like everyone has a lot on their plates this week. Monique - I'm glad that you had a good long weekend.
Barb - I'm glad that you were able to be seen, diagnosed and released. You can't be too careful. Too bad about running over the tire. Glad it wasn't an animal. I hear someone struck a moose this weekend, it swirved in the incoming lane with a family of 5 sent to hospital. One of the children succumbed to injuries. It's that time of year, for sure.

Tomorrow, I'm getting my nails done. I discovered why the edges start peeling after 2 weeks. It's usually when I press with heavy steam and it hits the side of my nail. I guess I might start wearing the silicone finger guards. Wednesday I meet mom's doctor for annual assessment. Then Thursday & Friday, I have rented a LA in Carleton Place to quilt my GS and another quilt. It's a full week.

    Have a good evening.

Enjoy life and do what makes you happy. Everything else will follow.

Every day I try to do one thing that challenges my comfort zone.
