New to forum introduction
Good Morning!
I have been sewing for a very long long time, since I was 12 years old and I am now 67. I live in South Florida and love tropical plants! I only started quilting in 2012. I have made maybe 10 pieced quilts and given most away. I would like to learn applique but find it very scary! I want to learn turned applique as I don't care for the fusable feel. I also am very interested in old quilting blocks using old type of print fabric. Does anyone have any suggestions on beginner applique patterns? I just don't know where to start!

Good Morning and welcome from Northeast FL!
I did a quick search in tutorials, https://quiltingtutorials.com/tutorials?q=applique there are a lot listed there. Those with Rob Appell are fusible. But keep flipping through.
Shabby Fabrics also has tutorials on applique as well.

Welcome from SW Ohio. If you don't like the feel of fusible you could still use that pattern for needle turn. Just add a seam allowance. I am sure you will find it very relaxing. Please post pictures before you give away any more quilts.

Welcome from Colorado. Re: applique -- I don't do much, & just the fusible. YouTube is my go-to place, as well as internet searches. You might check out your local quilt stores -- assuming you live near them -- & see if any of them are offering classes.

Hi and welcome to the forum from Canada's capital.
If you google Appliquick techniques, you will find a beautiful and easier way of doing applique patterns, also the tools to make this easier. I prefer this to raw edge. I think if you google Kathy McNeil, ypu will be inspired. I was lucky to take a class for her.

Welcome from the Tampa area!
Jenny did a series with Jan Patek, I believe, on needle turn applique.

Welcome from New Orleans, LA.
I learned applique from Nancy Lee Chong's DVD on Hawaiian Quilting. I felt it was an amazing introduction to needleturn applique. https://pacificrimquilt.com/shop/lessons/
