    Default Camariñas bobbin lace

    Good morning friends here I am again to tell you stories of my country and ancient customs. Today I am going to teach you a wonderful job that some women learned many years ago and thet they are still doing because they were taught by their mother and grandmother.     So pretty! I see in your last picture they are using a pattern. Do the ladies make those up or is it like a cross stitch where you can buy the pattern?

    Hulamoon, yes they are purchased patterns, but they are made in quite thick paper they have to resist many punctures to make the tiptoe, although people who have been working for many years do not use them because they know them by heart

    Amazing, thank you for sharing. What a wonderful thing to have been passed down. I love the picture of the young girls making the lace, another generation learning how to do it.
    Nobody is going to stand up at your funeral and say she had a really expensive sofa and great shoes Life is not about stuff.
