Good morning friends here I am again to tell you stories of my country and ancient customs. Today I am going to teach you a wonderful job that some women learned many years ago and thet they are still doing because they were taught by their mother and grandmother. In the first place we will know Galicia the country of Lourixe , an incredible place full of forest, mountains, beaches and beautiful villages but also of famous coasts such as "Finisterre" for the Romans "End of the Earth" and other dangerous as the "Coast of Death" because for many years the ships sank by the strong storms and in one of those ships that sank on the coast there was an Italian lady who was saved along with more passengers by the inhabitants of those village and she taught women how to fit bobbins and today those wonderful works are still being done and are famous throughout the world as "Camariñas bobbin lace" which is the name of the town

So pretty! I see in your last picture they are using a pattern. Do the ladies make those up or is it like a cross stitch where you can buy the pattern?

Hulamoon, yes they are purchased patterns, but they are made in quite thick paper they have to resist many punctures to make the tiptoe, although people who have been working for many years do not use them because they know them by heart
