I do not like chilli peppers and other hot stuff. But I like beans so ..
I made a whole chicken in the slow cooker and saved the meat and broth.
Then I sautéed onions, garlic, sellerie, spring onion, and carrots with some onion powder, garlic powder, tumeric and kummin and some tiny pinch of chili powder. Let it fry a bit. then put in som corn, crushed tomatoes and chickpeas and borlotti beans and the chicken broth that I saved before. Let it simmer a good half hour. Oh I put in some herbs to. a mix of oregano , basil and let it cooke. When everything looked ready I mashed some of the bean to thicken up the stew and then put in the pre cooked chicken meat. and just let it heat thru.
Now it is time to taste it. And I will not be happy if I do not like it. But fingers crossed. It smells good.
Here is a picture.
Have a great day/evening
Hm I think I like it.

God, Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The stash to make a quilt to help me cope,
A quilt to give to comfort those I love in times of hurt, fear and uncertainty.
And the courage to keep on sewing when life itself seems held together by a single thread of hope.
I think this will be a great chili stew!! I had to look up the borlotti beans and found they are also called cranberry beans. I will have to try some out. Thanks for the 'inprov' recipe.

that sounds very, very, very good. my son made orange chicken and rice today. wasn't bad. was a box mix but still tasted good, not like the dish i made a few days earlier. it's good men can cook these days. maybe I can get him to make chili!!
Wow your recipe sounds delicious, but is way different than American chili which has a red sauce, dark red kidney beans and no carrots. And usually lots and lots of chili powder. I think I might try making yours sometime. I make chili or some kind of home made soup every other week so i am always looking for something new to try.
