I received these two tops, unfinished and wonky, from my husband's 94 year old aunt. As you can see, I had them machine quilted exactly as they were given to me. Check out the Double Wedding Ring quilt! I had no fabric to finish the row and I was afraid to removed anything so I just finished it as it was. One edge of the DWR quilt had a horrible small border on it so I just cut it off. I used good ole muslin on the back and bound with a 30's print. These will be given away as door prizes at the June 2020 family reunion.

Wow, those are wonderful even if they are wonky. I love the shaped edges.

What a wonderful way to honor the family. I know both will be adored by the lucky winners!

Nice job on both of these! I love old quilts. I think it would be fun to resurrect quilts like these and I admire you for figuring out how to save the one with the damaged edge. That's the one I would want!

I may be pm-ing you in the future. My 97 yo aunt died last week and my cousin found 2 quilts she is giving me that not one of her 7 bros or sisters want but they need to be repaired and I am the only quilter in the fam. One is S. Sue and the other one I think is redwork. Don't know when I will get them or how bad their condition is.

What a great job of finishing these beauties.. Just love it when life is given to a flimsy. These sure are treasures and I would find it very hard to part with either of them. Thank you for sharing your talents with us. both in the finish and the giving.
