Welcome from Wisconsin! My favorite batting is 100% cotton. I like quilts to feel heavy (I am always cold) plus cotton gives that nice crinkly look after it is washed. I was looking at a quilt I made about 10 years ago that gets used alot and washed about 3 times a year. I used Warm and Natural batting in it and that quilt now looks so flat and thin compared to ones with a cotton batt.

Welcome from New England. I restored a treadle this summer and have just started using it to quilt. It's so relaxing and my results are so much better than on my computerized machine.
