    Default layer cakes

    what is the total yardage of a 10 layer cake I want to make a quilt (quick baby quilt) with a solid and I am using Jenny's drunkard path with a solid yardage. I should know this but instead I am asking

    You can get 40 10" squares out of 3 yards of fabric if you make no cutting mistakes. A few layer cakes (not many) have 42 squares. Make sure the pattern you are doing calls for 40 squares not 42.

    The actual yardage for a layer cake, and jelly roll equal 2.78 yds of fabric.
