Default How to Make a Quilt Sandwich Using Pool Noodles

God, Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The stash to make a quilt to help me cope,
A quilt to give to comfort those I love in times of hurt, fear and uncertainty.
And the courage to keep on sewing when life itself seems held together by a single thread of hope.

Thanks! Looks like an easy method.

Does anyone know the name of the quilt block/pattern? The only mention in the comments is that it's paper pieced.

The block is called "Lace Star". Haven't been able to find the pattern, but here's a tutorial

Thank you for sharing this video! Another quilter uses a similar method, but with PVC pipe.

I was all stoked to try this out until I realized it wouldn't work with the glue baste method...at least not without modifications. Maybe all you would have to do after basting the first section with Elmer's glue is to roll out more of the backing fabric, add glue, roll out more of the batting on top of that, add glue, then roll out more of the top. Then you'd let it dry before you advance. That actually wouldn't be so bad at all.

Edit: This is pretty much how this quilter makes it work with spray basting!

Having the layers wrapped around poles like a long arm machine would save tons of time spent smoothing and centering. I think I'll have to try this out!
