Default How to HAND-TIE Your Quilt AT HOME With Matt and Donna!

God, Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The stash to make a quilt to help me cope,
A quilt to give to comfort those I love in times of hurt, fear and uncertainty.
And the courage to keep on sewing when life itself seems held together by a single thread of hope.

Thanks for posting this Annika. I know several quilters who like to tie their tops and there are some good hints from the Jordans.

Wow, this was a throw back for me. I lve the tip about using fray check.

I guess officially I made my first quilt in the late 80s. I sewed my kids clothing, home decor and craft items, so I would cut up leftovers in small blocks. I thought it would be faster, so the blocks are serged together. Yes ,you read correctly. Serged.

I used poly batting and tied with embroidery floss. It has been used as our beach quilt for the past 35+ years and is still holding up well. I guess the odd mixture of poly-cotton, linens fabrics held up well.

Enjoy life and do what makes you happy. Everything else will follow.

Every day I try to do one thing that challenges my comfort zone.

Just about the best part for me was to find out that Donna had UNFINISHED quilts

Right???? I thought I had too many but I don't have TUBS full, lol

I enjoyed seeing how they did it, I've tied one but it was ages & ages ago, and I didn't do it anywhere near that well.
