    Default What Size

If you use the 2.5 inch strips to make a pineapple quilt, using the Creative Grids ruler, what size is the finished quilt top before you put on the borders. Want to make one, but don't really care for the solid color honey bun strips and the only option other than buying yardage and cutting strips from that are the jelly rolls which offer a lot more in color choices.
    Thanks,

Jackie, that's a tough question, ever for a math nerd like me.

I can tell you this, you lose a lot of fabric with the Creative Grids Pineapple ruler. I have the mini pineapple ruler, and I figured out that a Jelly Roll (which is about 3 yards of fabric) would give you about a one square yard quilt. I think you'll waste less fabric with the full size ruler, but you'll still throw away a lot of trimmings.

Let us know what you decide!
Toni ... If I keep sewing long enough, will they make their own dinner?

Thank you! I have the large ruler and plan to make 10 inch blocks. I'll let you know how it goes.
