    Default Friday has arrived!!

Friday? Where did the week go? Yes it poured rain in the morning but by the time I was done grocery shopping, it had stopped and was quite nice the rest of the afternoon. I even did another load of laundry.

I tell you Mother Hubbard's cupboard was pretty bare. We are good now for a while. I also got more stuff organized and put away until next year.

Hubby is going away for the weekend so I am hoping I will get into the sewing room. I work all next week, plus Phil and Maizyn are coming for that weekend. It is our 35th year for the Oktoberfest here in town.

I was also called and visited and asked about working on the upcoming elections which will be held on the 21st. I will be working here which is good as I won't have to travel very far.

Have a great day friends and weekend to boot. Safe travels to all those making the trek to Missouri. I sure envy you.
Blessed are the children of the piecemakers for they shall inherit the quilts!

Good Morning, Everyone ~ Cloud cover kept the temps. warmer last night. It's supposed to be only in the 70's today, which will be a pleasant change. I keep checking the extended forecast for the night time lows so I'll know when to schedule the sprinkler system blow-out.

Today is Lady Bugs lunch, but I've decided not to go. I'm not fond of the menu at that particular restaurant. Also I thought I'd play it safe & not expose these elderly ladies, just in case I do have shingles. I think the itching is not quite as bad as on day 1 & 2.

This week end is the annual Quilt-a-Fair. I hope to get over there; you never know what bargains are available. It's always fun to look, even if you don't buy. The Kaffe Fassett lecture, sponsored by Lyons Quilting, is coming up on Mon. the 30th. I pre-paid months ago; seating is limited.

Have a great Friday & week end.

Good Morning All...I'm getting ready to clean carpet today. We moved a lot of furniture last night and picked things up and put them away from the Girls. They are wondering why their crates are in the kitchen today. This job has needed to be done for a while. I gathered up all of the rug runners with rubber backs to make me a safe path to and from the water source and the toilet. Now if Dot will cooperate all will be fine. She has a habit of being under my feet all the time. They all hate the noise of the vacuum and the carpet cleaner. Jeff is working a double shift today so I will have plenty of time to work.Tomorrow I'll be a sore puppy.

Thank you for all the sweet notes on my Halloween mat. To reply to several comments, yes machine embroidery can use a LOT of thread....and also stabilizer and interfacing. Mostly it takes a lot of time and patience. There is a definite learning curve to machine embroidery. I'm still learning but I feel quilters have a bit of an edge because we can already sew and follow instructions.

I'm off to start my day. Wishing everyone a wonderful Friday. I like the little heart quilt Jenny did today in her tutorial. Its perfect when you need a little "somethin'".

    Hugs......

    Good Morning All,

Jim and the boys will be coming over in a little bit. I've cleaned up the sewing stuff that stays on the dining room table while I'm in quilting mode. The baby top is made. I was planning to go pick up batting this morning, but now, I'll have to wait until they leave.

My VERC appointment was cancelled for today. This afternoon is free. Mike is off today, and works Sat. and Sun. It will be an interesting weekend.

It's supposed to be another record breaking day. We've had 3 in a row in the mid 90s. I'm getting kind of tired of summer! It seems like we had fall and went straight back into summer this year. Hopefully, we'll have a little winter this year.

Joy, I'm glad you're not itching as much. It is so annoying to have an itch!

Have a great day! Time for a cup of coffee before the loudness arrives!

    Good morning all,

It was nice to get a manicure and massage, although I am rather sore today. She worked on my left shoulder which is usually quite knotted. I picked up salmon for dinner, paired with grilled peppers, zuchini and patatoes. I'm still feeling run down and fighting a cold or something. I think Spending time in my sewing room will make things better.

Today is mostly free to get caught up. I will bring up my vintage machine in preparation for a maintenance class tomorrow. I think I will make a puch to store the manual, feet, accessories and bobbins.

Looking forward to hearing from everyone who have attended the birthday bash or upcoming retreat. Next year, I have to work this into my schedule.

    Have an enjoyable day.

Enjoy life and do what makes you happy. Everything else will follow.

Every day I try to do one thing that challenges my comfort zone.

Good morning. I spent 3 hrs at the eye specialist’s office. My eyes remained stable so I can continue to take Plaquinil . I did not do much after getting home. The puppy also woke me up at 3 am. She heard my husband leave for the hospital.

This morn I went to the gym. Now I have to take the puppy to the vet for some more shots. Hope I get my quilting mojo back.

Happy National Coffee Day. I do enjoy drinking coffee.

    Friday, funday!

Today, in New Orleans, it's sunny and warm, the humidity is blessedly low, and it's feeling like Fall. I'm preparing "The Mardi Gras Suite" (aka, the guest bedroom) for a visit from the FIL and his wife. It's amazing how a room that hasn't gotten used, still needs to be cleaned... We're trying to get out of our storage unit, so I'm going through boxes and trying to de-stash, and finding UFOs all over the place. I can't imagine all these half-done projects would be wanted by anyone, so I'll just keep reminding myself Jenny's sage words, "Finished is better than perfect" and get on it. Maybe I should make that my mantra for 2020! Hmmm......

Gorgeous fall day, 70's and sunny. Taking advantage of the nice weather to plant a few more perennials. I found some nice grasses and hostas in half-gallon containers on sale 4/$20. We planted 3 butterfly bushes next to the deck the other day and have been seeing so many bees and butterflies, mostly monarch and painted ladies. Tonight we're going to a benefit for the rehab center where my MIL spent the last 2 years of her life. It's dinner and silent auction. I usually find something nice to bring home.
Thayer Abaigael, since you live in NOLA, do you happen to know of Taffy Pulls? He's got a FB group at Recycled Quilt.
Wishing everyone a good weekend. Joy I sure do hope it isn't shingles and hope you start to feel better soon.

Interesting afternoon. Mike and I went to the Gem/ Mineral Show at the Shriner's. I bought three silver dollars for the grand kids. It was fun!

(Beth, I take Plaquenil too and just went through my annual eye exam. Fortunately my blurriness was just due to an early cataract.)

Good morning all! It is cool and overcast today, with an expected high of 70. I will be working on sewing more trees for DH's quilt. As well as doing some boring housework of course. I took the car in this morning for its 75K checkup so I have to remember to pick it up! When I get to sew I lose track of all time, it is so nice. Listening to music and sewing is the best therapy for whatever ails me. I hope you all get to do something you love today! Have a great day.
