Just watched an episode of Fons and Porter quilting from June 25th I think....it is 3407 Cottage Teatime and the guest Kothy Hafersat shows a table runner and how to quilt it using rulers for a domestic machine. She offered several tips an hints on doing ruler work, one of which was to slow down your machine to half if possible. That way your speed remains constant no matter how hard you press the foot. I record the Fons and Porter series on PBS and didn't notice what the actual date it aired.
I plan to try out the ruler work on smaller projects before tackling a larger quilt. Practice Practice Practice I am sure is the key to success.
