    Default Hello from PEI

Good morning my friends. YES we survived Hurricane Dorian here in PEI. We moved to a cabin the day before. I don't think the people here thought it was going to be so bad. Welcurrentlyl it was and we were in the eye of the hurricane. I don't remember being this scared. I prayed hard that night to both of our parents to keep us safe. We were 4 couples there. Trees down all around us and between the cabins but we all were okay.

We are currently 2 couples in the whole campground. Our new friends leave tomorrow. She is a quilter if you can believe that, LOL!!

We are on day 6 without power and running water no shower and toilets but we are still having a good time. I know we will get some kind of refund for sure.

We came to another campground this morning for showers and I am doing the laundry as well. They also let me use the wifi.

All in all we are fairing pretty well. I miss you all. Take care.

    Thanks for thinking of us.
Blessed are the children of the piecemakers for they shall inherit the quilts!

Monique ~ Thanks for posting. We all have been so concerned about you. A person can live w/o power & some of the necessities for a short time, but it gets old after a while. I've browsed the web trying to find postings about PEI's damage, but they seem to be few & far between. Maybe when power is restored folks will post their pics. & videos. I saw one guy on YT filming his property prior to the storm, but I haven't seen any after yet. Glad you're safe & survived that nasty storm.

It seems that your vacation is being a bit complicated with the arrival of the hurricane, but I am glad to know that Jef and you are fine although with some curious stories to tell, I hope that the days you have left on vacation can enjoy good morning and that place that will be wonderful

Just the sounds of a hurricane can be cause for alarm. And the aftermath is like stepping back in time. No electronics and cooking over an open flame really makes you feel like you can accomplish anything! Glad you made it through and are safe. Looking forward to reading about more of your experiences.

So very glad you are OK, safe, well, and basically staying strong! It's ironic that you found a quilter amongst your new friends. I bet you will stay in touch with them in the future. Just because!!
