Default Smell something burning... it's me thinking

lol, Dad would tease when I said I was thinking. 'I thought I smelled smoke.'

Anyway, I have a few of the layer cakes left over from Lexie's quilt from way back when. I'm thinking about doing the Jelly basket quilt. It uses a layer cake and jelly roll. For a throw, I'm thinking (thus the smoke), if I cut one layer cake in half, then take one of the halves and cut that set in half then sew like the tutorial. Wouldn't that be enough for a throw?

I think you have the start of a 'burning' idea! Please post a pic when done.

I have that pattern -- it was a freebie on a day I placed an order. The finished block is 8-1/2". If you have enough fabric to do 6 squares across and 7 squares down, the finished size would be 51" x 59-1/2", not including any borders. That should make a nice lap-sized quilt!

There were 40 pieces in the layer cake, so I had to raid the stash for couple of pieces.

Wow Katrina - forget the smoke, you're on fire. Beautiful quilt. I love the colours.

Wait, I think I still smell smoke. Are you thinking again?

Katrina & Suzanne, My husband almost faints when I say I've been thinking But he really gets very quiet when I say "I've got a question." That one usually costs him money, LOL.
