    Tuesday hellos!!

Good morning friends. I have no update on Greg other than he is going to the military hospital today.

Yesterday I puttered around. I did laundry, dragged out the sleeping bags and hung them out to refresh them. I did make a needle book for my neighbour, as she had admired the one I made last week. I packed my bins properly that will hold all the stuff we need for our trip.

I am not sure what I will do today. Hubby is going to get a new tire put on the van this morning.

I got to talk to Maizyn a little last night. This is the first time I have spoken to her since she was here.

Well that's it for me folks. Have a wonderful day, no matter what you do.

    Re: Tuesday hellos!!

Good Morning, Everyone ~ I had a busy day yest. Early on, I finished up some weeding in an area of rocks in the front yard & cleared the grass away from the sprinkler heads in the front. That took about an hour. Also did the usual Mon. laundry. I didn't get out the door until almost 11:30 to go shop for a dishwasher. Although it's not as well known a brand, we have other Crosley appliances (frig., freezer, dryer); the product is warrantied for 10 yrs., which is more than other brands. We like to support our local family businesses when possible; this one has been here since 1971 & now is on the 3rd generation. The only Crosley he had in the showroom was a used one (only ~6 mos.), which had been owned by his son. He will guarantee the full 10 yr. warranty. I took it. It will be delivered & installed tomorrow a.m.; they will haul away the old Maytag, which served us well for 25 yrs.

After the appliance store, I went to the groc. store to get ground turkey, chicken, & 5 lb. carrots. I mixed up my turkey patties in the afternoon. In the eve. I did the veg. prep. for soup. So today I'll be making chicken soup; I'll be in the kitchen all morning. At least it will be a cooler day. Maybe only ~80. But more 90's are in the forecast. At least the nights are getting cooler for better sleeping.

      Good Morning All,

Monique, I hope Greg finds out something before you go on vacation. I know I wouldn't be able to relax not knowing something.

Yesterday was home school and family dinner. Ben's quilt will be arriving at his Grandma's house Wednesday. I'm pretty tired of making quilts for sick family members. It's time for them to get healthy already! I was working on Ben's quilt, when I thought, the aunties (Dot's sisters) would both love throws. So, I'd rather work on throws for them. I still have a baby quilt to plan out, I'm just waiting to see if they'll give hints... boyish, or girlish colors. I have a fat quarter bundle with a panel already that I want to use.

The baby cardinal seems to be getting a little redder. Right now, he looks almost like a robin. His breast is very red and his back feathers are still brownish. We'll see what happens next.

Well, I'm set up for home school. J should be here soon and I need a little more coffee before he gets here! Have a great and creative day!

Busy day yesterday, my car had the oil change light turn on and one saying we had a low tire. The car was begging for attention so we took it in and left it, new oil and tire rotation. Picked the car up and now the truck is there for the same treatment to be picked up after exercise. I haven't been to the gym in more than a week, will be sore later.
I am working on a quilt for my dgd new queen bed, the top is on point and not quite long enough, bummer. I am going to add a straight border to the bottom and hope that looks good. I have ordered Hobbs poly batting for it since I want it lightweight. Hope that will work well, too.IMG_1045.JPG The bottom will have butterflies set on straight.

Good morning. I have to do a few errands this morn. Later we have our dog trainer coming over to see the springer can relax more around the puppy. We are finding more health issues going on with our cat. He is still in the hospital. He now has a thyroid issue and major dental work needed. I need to get pet insurance for all our animals.

I did buy a box to use to send the baby quilt. Hopefully I can get a little sewing done later todaywhen the puppy takes a rest in her cage. I do not know how Barb cared for 2 puppies. I am exhausted with just 1. I did take a nap yesterday afternoon.

          Claire— your quilt is beautiful!

          Have a good day.

Beth....It was a 3-ring circus for whole year with the pups and a sick Dottie. Many times I regretted getting two, but now that they are more grown up I'm so glad that we did. We would never have been able to decide which pup to re-home had we gone that route. Hang in there...they are small for such a short time. Hugs....

              Good Morning!
It's our "first day" of school for the staff. We have a full day of training and then our Open House from 4:30 to 6 PM. Tomorrow is our first day with students.
I was really looking forward to the year with the schedule they built for us last spring. Apparently that all went out the window. I'm not sure who's brilliant idea it was, but if there is a department/age/person you would really rather not work with, that is EXACTLY where the administration is placing you this year. One gal is considering quitting. She's going to give it a try, but she's already making other plans. Sad. Who wants to start off the year on a bad foot?

              On to happier things!
I checked off all of the To-Dos on yesterday's list, even after a rough start to the morning. Eric's truck had a simple fix and I ended up with two new tires by the end of the day. Not quite the plan, but....
I also finished two sewing projects yesterday evening! On to the next one tonight!

I did determine that cortisone shots work for almost exactly one week for me. Almost to the hour, my knee pain returned. I will admit that it is less than it was a week ago, but I'm not looking forward to the stairs at work.

I'm headed out to milk the lady goats before I zip through the shower and go to work.
I hope you all have a wonderful day!

UPDATE: My son is being looked at right now, further tests being done. He is scheduled to see a specialist on the 18th. He says they are being very thorough but that the doctor did not seem too concerned. Makes this Momma Bear feel better for sure.

                  Re: Tuesday hellos!!

Good Morning! Sunshine here this morning. The major storms that were predicted missed us yesterday. I was able to get to the sewing machine but should have just taken the day off. I thought I would free motion a quilt. Apparently, both the machine and quilt didn't like the idea as I broke the thread numerous times and a needle once. At that point, I just walked away for a while (after I cleaned up the broken needle). Came back later and did a serpentine stitch on the seam lines and worked on removing the free motion quilting. It is going to take a while to get the stitches all out.

                  Have a great day everyone

                    Re: Tuesday hellos!!

                    Good day everyone,

Another nice looking day, but hopefully it will be spent at home. I've got the first of 3 loads of laundry going. I have 2 doz of corn cooked, cooling so I can make niblets to freeze and use. 10lbs of beets are in the pot boiling. O may make a few jars of pickled beets, but the remainder I will keep for borscht soup and for dinner. I also will make 3-4 shepherd pies to freeze for my daughter. It's one of the ways I can be helpful with their busy schedule. The other is picking up sale items.

Yesterday I seemed to be running around a lot doing errands, visiting my daughter. They are back at work this week. Max is going into grade 1, Cassandra starts pre-k and Cédric changed daycare groups and now in the pre-k. Big changes for them. I visited with mom for over an hour and actually brought a VQC quilt to work on, handsewing the binding. I can tell you it had the attention of residents sharing their memories of quilts their mom made. Then our neighbours had incited over for wine tasting. We get along with them, in fact they are our travelling companions to PEI, and then they will head out to NS. We ordered chinese food. Jim really enjoyed the glider ride Sunday and had lots of questions for Michael. I think he may start lessons next year. He will need to fill his time when he retires at end of year, or he may drive Connie nuts.

I think my day is already filled, so time to check on the beets.

Have an enjoyable day. Be safe from Mother Nature. I keep hearing their a lot of misbehaviour.
Enjoy life and do what makes you happy. Everything else will follow.

                      Re: Tuesday hellos!!

                      Morning all,

Love these cooler days. I've already been up in my sewing room finishing up some Christmas gifts. Some were ones that never got finished last year in time to give so I 'm ahead this year and some are ones that were newly started. I also have a reading pillow that I started and never finished so that will get completed and go to the craft fair.

Not much on my agenda today, love those "free time" days. Hubby is having a molar extracted today so I 'll see if he needs me to go with him. Our dentist is only 5 minutes from the house so I can drop him off and pick him up if need be.

Dinner is already prepared as I made enough last night so I wouldn't have to cook today.

Monique, glad to hear they' re doing additional testing to determine the etiology of your son's problem.

Basip, puppies are a bit of work but oh so cute!
                      Claire, love that quilt!

Well, time to get moving. Wishing everyone a good day.
