Default Do Batik Fabrics Play Well?

I have a question about using batiks with "normal" fabrics in the same project.
Do they behave or wash differently?

I've used batiks and quilter's cotton before. It worked out well.

I combine batiks and cotton fabric all the time with no problems. If I am using a red or a purple batik I make sure and use two color catchers when I wash the quilt the first time. I keep washing the quilt and replacing the color catchers until the color catchers are almost white. Sometimes one wash is enough, sometimes it takes three washes (worst case ever.)

When I was picking fabrics for my first quilt, the store person helped me mix batiks with regular cottons. I didn't that was right, but it was fine and now I often mix when I can't find the perfect fabric.

Batiks are more likely to have a color bleed than other cottons, otherwise no real difference.

No problem using batiks with other fabrics. I've been considering using them in dressmaking. Some are just so beautiful.
