Default All Stars quilt but in charm square size

I'm thinking of doing the all stars quilt out of scraps and charm packs I have. If for the layer cake size quilt Jenny used 2.5 inch strips to make the stars, I am thinking 1.5 strips should be ok. Has anyone else made this quilt using charm packs...… any thoughts would be helpful - but yes I do realise its a lot more work than using layer cakes....

    thank you

TinyStars.....are you using 10 inch background squares with 1.5" X 5" strips? You might take several 5 inch background squares with 1.5 inch strips and do test blocks to see how they come together. 1.5 inch strips may not give you enough fabric to make "star legs" that are very big and prominent.

I know myself, I try to visualize a process and when I do test blocks....it comes out different than what I visualized. Let us know what you decide, sweetie and good luck!

Using 1 1/2 strips will be 1 inch after seams. Very small.
I imagine that’s why 2 1/2 inch strips are usually used.
Be sure to keep everything in proportion.
    Small star points/ small centers.
    Larger star points/larger center.
Decide what your finished quilt size will be,
this may help you decide what size star block
you need to make. I have made several star
block quilts and they are fun to make.

It should work. I'd do like Sherri suggested and try a couple of sample blocks. You might find that the 1.5" strips are hard to work with, by making the samples you can work out the kinks before messing up your fabric.

If you're using a jelly roll, to cut in half would be 1 1/4'' to get two equal pieces.

If you're using a solid for the stars, and patterned for the squares.... hmmmmmm that could be interesting, too.

Tiny Stars, welcome to the forum! You've started my brain thinking about the 'what ifs' in quilting!
