    Default Any Night Owls around?

I'm having trouble sleeping. Is anyone up and quilting? Show me what you are working on?

Yep! I have a machine next to my bed with simple projects cut out for middle of the night insomnia sewing. Working on my Escape from Candyland quilt. Improvised the sashing of the open block, then to a border and quilting and creating my "escapee"!Click image for larger version.

Hi Jnet!. I'm often up way too late, so I'm sorry I missed you. But I slept like a log last night! I'd been scrubbing all my wood cabinets to prep them for refinishing, and I guess I was exhausted. I'm not sure I even finished a full page in my Nook book before dropping off. Good thing the Nook automatically turns its light off when you stop turning pages!
Toni ... If I keep sewing long enough, will they make their own dinner?

Whoooo whooo...yes a night owl here too. I work on whatever quilt is my most recent project, or if too tired to sew or make precuts, I watch Jenny quilt instead. I am making a reversible single quilt. The first side is a white lilac and purple fence rail. The second side I am working on today is some rhombus diamonds , some with off pink with swallows . Second side always take longer, since I pin and hand sew that side. I will take some pictures after lunch and post it here for you to see =)

Jean. Great idea. I am often up for an hour or so in the middle of the night. Could easily have some charm packs on the machine and just put them together. Hmmmmmm

We used to have an informal Night Owl group here. I was able to be a part of the group because I get up so early rather than stay up late.

Yes there was a Night Owl group. I was a frequent flyer there.

Then I decided to go to work at the school, and now I'm in bed when I used to be sewing. In the summer I can still night owl, but I find it a lot harder to adjust my schedule back and forth. I'm slowly shifting into an Early Bird.

We also found that the time zone difference from one coast to the other made it a challenge to determine what time was considered a Night Owl.
As of today, my summer was officially over, as the first training of the year happened. Next week there are three in-building days and the following Wednesday we are back in class. I'm looking forward to being back in school, but really wonder where the summer got off to!
