    Default hi

i'm AJ I've been reading the forum for a long time now and enjoy looking at all your lovely quilts.
I have made a few for family and friends.

The reason for me joining is to ask if anyone has a 8700 or 5550 Juki industuial sewing machine. It is the same machine Donna Jordan uses same machine different numbers. buy husband says he'll buy me one but I cant test
it out there are no Juki dealers new me we would have to order one.

So I will ask you Do you know anything about this machine I do know it's straight stitch only. I have other questions about it but I don't wont to overwhelm you

    thank you AJ

Welcome AJ. I do remember one forum member telling us about her new industrial machine. I am sure she will be along soon to answer your question.

I have the 8700. I bought it sight unseen off Ebay from a dealer in Los Angeles that provided free shipping. It cost less than $800 for the machine, the table and the thread holders. The reason I bought it was because I use it for making purses, totes and bags. I don't know that I would use it for quilting, but I'm sure you could.

Hi and welcome to the forum. You said you don't have a dealer near you. Are you near where they might be having an expo or quilting show? I found that a great place to try out machines and usually they have show prices.

Bubba may I ask how you like the machine over all? How dose it do over thick seams? how is the tension do you have to adjust it often? is it picking about the threads you use? would you change to some else if you could? do you still love it? is there anything you would change?

    thank you aj
