Default Make a "Diamond Chain" Quilt with Jenny Doan

God, Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The stash to make a quilt to help me cope,
A quilt to give to comfort those I love in times of hurt, fear and uncertainty.
And the courage to keep on sewing when life itself seems held together by a single thread of hope.

One of my favorite blocks - also known as Jacob's Ladder and Buckeye Beauty as well as other names. I really love this little star fabric - going to have to put a couple in my cart. Very pretty!

    TFS!

Thanks again for posting! I am making this pattern as a Christmas gift for my oldest son. I looked to see if Jenny had posted this tutorial before I started. Now that I have it underway, here it is I'm using batiks and black fabric and it is stunning! (IMHO) I'm so glad she posted this so I can verify I am doing it right. You know what I mean?

I love this one. I have a ton of charms and seem to rarely find a pattern I like that uses them. This has the potential to be a go to pattern.

Yes, I know this as the "Buckeye Beauty" block. I have a quilt top sandwiched & in the FMQ process of this pattern. I also am using the same pattern for my recent purchase of Tula Pink's "Pinkerville" fabric. My blocks are 12" (finished), so each 4 P & HST is 6.5". I have all the HSTs done. I used 10" squares, sewed around the edges, & cut into 4ths. Now I need to work on the 4 P's. In addition to the LC from which I'm using, I still have 2 charm packs & a JR, so I could use them for the 8" blocks to make another quilt. It's an easy pattern & looks nice.

Jewel Box is another name for this very versatile block!
