    WIP - July 26 - August 1, 2019

Kicking off the week, everyone must be busy with summer and life does go on.

I have been gardening this week as there hasn't been the high humidity and heat of the past month. I have cleaned off the cutting table, and all is ready for my next burst. I have 2 quilts sandwiches waiting for ambition. Today may be the day.

We are finally meeting friends this weekend, and I will give Steve his musical quilt. He is not expecting and will be surprised. He has owned a music store all his life.

What sewing in your part of the world?

Got up early this morning to see what the new block (#14) would be for the Moda Bake Shop At the Seashore quilt along. It's cute, but there was another error (good grief)! It would probably blow my mind how many blocks were initially posted on the website and had errors! Here's what I created this morning by 60 AM....

I have all 160 blocks sewn for the Sunshine Lattice pattern using 20 different fabrics from my butterfly stash. Ready to start joining the blocks together.

Thanks for kicking us off, S. I think I need to step back as the 'kick-off girl' for a while. There's been too many times lately that I haven't got us started for the week.

Karla, you did such a great job, but understand how one needs a break from things... I am just getting thru one of those Forced Time outs... broke my Left Wrist. And that had stopped me from creating for a few weeks.. Plus other life events put all my creativity on hold for awhile- DD#2 going thru some bad times with her chemo. But I am back at it, now.

Sandwiched 3 panel quilts and just getting a top done.. Just 3 more rows to sew together, then figure out a border before sandwiching it. I do all my own quilting, so I've got a bunch to do now.. Let's hope there isn't another Forced Time Out for me for awhile.

Karla, I can keep a watch and start weekly thread. We all have to retreat at times.

Yesterday was not as hot & humid, so I headed to the sewing room. I finished quilting the log cabin hearts quilt. I made the binding and half of is hand sewn. I also quilted a crazy patch quilt for VQC. Just 2 more blocks, attach binding and done.

Shermur, I am also working on at the seashore quilt along. I kept doubting myself with this block and remeasured and then looked at the pattern and thought there is no way that adds up to be sewn next to the strip. Sometimes, I wonder if these designers actually have ever made the block that they post. Where are you finding the corrections ?

TMP....a lot of the times, I am figuring out what the errors are and I contact them regarding the errors. It has been corrected at this point. What issue(s) are you having, specifically with block 14?

LOVE your log cabin heart quilt Suzanne! The colors are just stunning. I have some batiks that I think would be great for this one. Can you tell me where to find the pattern?

It was a course at a LQS. The person giving the course found a picture on Internet and tried to make up a pattern. In one day, all we managed to make was one block. I made full setting cornerstones into hHe border. Pattern cut them off. I could scan the pages with updated notes and post. It's a good 10 pages. I will do later.
