Default Bits and Pieces part 2

Well, when you cut the pieces from the wrong sets of strips, you have to reimagine the pattern.

This was supposed to be a quick and easy Hip to be Square from Donna Jordan. I miss cut the long pieces from the strips that were supposed to be the short pieces. Oh well, it happens.

Melinda and Cecelia were here yesterday and we laid out the pieces. Mel's idea was to put the squares 'on point'. Do large corner squares, strips here, strips there. There wasn't enough to do her main idea. I've spent a lot of time with the ripper! I worked on it last night, and finally decided to go find some cream colored batik.

Here's the final top. I'll get Mike to help me sandwich it when he gets home. Right now it's thread trimming time.

KPH its quilt is really pretty, I don´t know what the other pattern was but it has an incredible quilt, I like everything, the red squares, the white strips , the 9 patch lined with red and that red and blue strip that gives it a charm special. Congratulations on your work that will be a great gift loved

Sometimes we worry too much about a "mistake." I think you will be the only one to know it. I love the look of it.

Your quilt is beautiful. It is nice you were able to come up with a solution. I always worry my quilts will not be perfect, but then I step back and realize I am not perfect. I sew and make quilts because I love to sew. I will never be a perfectionist and don’t intend to try to be. When that happens it will no longer be fun, it will be more like a job. Keep putting out your beautiful projects.
