I stand while I sew. It is easier for me to go to the other room where the iron is, and when I get tired I know it. If I sit, my body does not say “no” until I get up. Been doing this for about 5 years and it works well for me. No chair, Saved myself some extra greenbacks for more fabric!
Blogging ahead.....research in quilting and sewing with a dab of cooking/recipes too.

I got this adjustable chair about a year ago and it works well for me. Lots of info available on the chair and it will be helpful if you read the Q&A's and Reviews.

if the chair you have is comfy, why not build / design a bit of a raised floor for the chair to be on not the table
build/ design, a adjustable foot rest in to it for when not sewing. or change the wheels for bigger versions, a few years back that orange diy place used to do all sorts of useful items.
hope you get sorted in which ever method is easiest for you, to be out of pain.

here i use an inflatable ball chair, which works for my many issues,

I have the Koala chair. When I retired, employees had taken up a collection and I bought it with that. Well worth the $$.

I'd never buy a chair I couldn't sit in first. I found a nice one last year around this time at Homegoods for a decent price. It has a little half back similar to the Arrow chair but curved. I hope to find another one this season (back to school sales).
