Default Embarking on the easy clam shell quilt this morning

Good morning all! I am embarking on the easy clam shell quilt this morning. I just sorted all my fabrics, I managed to find the same fabric as on the tutorial on etsy, love the fabric. It's my first experience on sewing on curves, I've been practicing, though. It does get easier the more you do it. Wish me luck!

Good luck and post a picture of your quilt when finished. That's a fun quilt.

thank you, I decided to cut and sew two rows at a time, starting at the bottom. It'll at least give me a little progress along the way. it would take a couple of days just to cut it out!

Way to go. Your bravery is inspiring. I recently received the ruler, but started on a different quilt as I waited for it. Looking at the ruler itself gives me a bit of pause at the task ahead, but it is my next quilt. Still deciding on fabric .

I like to take on challenges, so learning this one was definitely one of my goals, along with the apple core. I find this one a little easier than the apple core. I did practice about 10 times, though, before I started a real quilt. I do have a little hint that helps me: I pin in three places, the middle and the two ends. I pin in the center first, and then I do what I call 'finger sew' the fabric around the curve up to the end where i pin it again. I think the finger sewing really helps me. So far so good! I have the first row of block done. If you look at the tutorial, Jenny uses some bright colors, I do think they look wonderful. I'm thinking I want to try the pattern in a table runner, too. thanks for the encouragement!
