Go on YouTube.....it's a shame how many young 12-13-14-15-16-17 yr old are pre-teen & teen moms...and get ANGRY if you make a comment that they used state aid for their pregnancies and births. They tell you that "THEY" pay taxes...and when you ask them where they pay taxes, they tell you "Well, I pay taxes on my non-food items that my FOOD stamps don't buy." LOL! Really?
I realize this is a touchy subject and these networks with these teen mom shows like MTV ( I don't know what it is called) and then the show TLC has called Unexpected.....makes my blood boil.....that show is in it's 3 season...and the only teen mom that has been there all 3 seasons is the one that just gave birth to her 2nd kid, lives with her grandparents (they raised her) and she's dumped her babies daddy, and has a new BF that she started seeing when the 2nd kid was a few weeks old.
Apparently (she's on YouTube) her GMA/GPA have let this girl rule the roost since she was 5 yrs old. GMA did try to put her on Birth Control but she threw a fit and wouldn't take it. She wanted a baby(she admitted this on YouTube) to keep her 17 yr old BF around. They moved out, and fought so much that the apartment complex where they lived asked them to leave. She was pregnant for the 2nd one by this time and complained because the BF was working and was never home(she figured her income from the show was enough to live on so she thought the BF didn't need to work. They were supposed to get married, but suddenly she (after GMA/GPA paid for a wedding gown and probably other things) cancelled the wedding.
The thing that is really wrong here is that the GMA/GPA watch the kids all the time and this girls' mom has two kids by another guy (10-11 yrs old and a 2 yr old)and the "mom" of this girl comes over to the Grandparents every day to take care of the babies (2 yrs and 4-5 months old) while the babies "teenmom" pampers herself, makes her YT videos and whatever else she thinks is important.
Grandma/Grandpa let this "teen mom " go away for the week-end with her "new" BF? LOL!....really?
The latest thing I seen on YouTube was that this teen mom has contacted a Miami Plastic Surgeon and hopes to get "picked" to be an "Ambassador" for the Plastic Surgeon....because her body is sooo terrible (she starved herself to get back to her pre-pregnancy weight.)
(BTW....this girl lives in Ohio with her grandparents....and she wants plastic surgery in Miami FL?)
It's really sad.....it seems like whatever this teen mom wants, she gets. There doesn't seem to be any rules or conditions as far as her having two kids under 2. Oh, and she's signed up to go to nursing school. Classes are from 8 am to 4 pm Mon-Fri???

My question is really? I think GMA/GPA are going to be watching a THIRD baby pretty soon as well....(BTW....these Grandparents are the TEEN MOMS grandparents....so they are watching their GREAT-GRAND kids...…?????)
(She won't let the dad of the kids NOR will she let the Paternal GMA watch the kids now that she has a new BF ..she claims the BF no longer is a good dad....(well, she thinks she's a good mom? LOL)

Have any of you seen this train wreck on TV or YouTube? My 82 yr old aunt told me about this show! LOL!....(and boy she wasn't happy about it either!

I do my best to avoid such shows. I can see plenty of that just watching some of my neighbors.

There are reasons for some people to be on state aid. Sorry, but I don't see the reason for a teenage or pre-teen CHILD to be pregnant and on WELFARE because there's shows out there that GLORIFY pregnancy. With the birth control that is out there in the 21st Century, you've got kids on YouTube making comments that were the same type of things WE believed in in the 1950-60's & 70's...You know:
Don't let a guy finish inside you....that way you can't get pregnant"
"If you are using birth control, people will this your easy." (or they say words like "sl*t"
    ************************************************** *****************
Parents still find it difficult to talk to their children about sex and then the kids get FALSE information.
A lot of parents aren't home long enough after work to do much more than throw dinner on the table and get the kids in bed. Most likely 80%-90% of the parents don't have a CLUE as to where their teens are.
(When my kids were teens 3/4ths of their friends were always at our house. I always talked to their friends parents that seemed uninterested that the kids were at our house, and really didn't seem to care WHAT kind of parents my DH & I were. Some of the stories my kids friends told me were heartbreakingly sad...…
Sorry, but there is way too many kids on YOUTUBE that think all these teens who are making $100's of Thousands of dollars on YouTube per year are (in the teens eyes that watch their channels) So great because they are TEEN PARENTS!!! It's sad how many of these channels where these young girls are acting and dressing like they are 20-25 yrs old and they are just 13-14-15 yrs old.
Every week I find more and more of these sad channels. Just this week I found a YT channel with a young teen mom with a 3 month old little boy, who is trying to do the right thing, she has a job, she seems to be a great mommy.....she isn't thinking that her son is her parents responsibility....and yet(?) it seems that because she isn't out there messing around with her BF or partying....her channel has VERY little subscribers count. Why not? Why is that these girls who think having a baby is great, and the care is left to the grandparents or other family members seem to be the ones making big $$ off YT!!

Sorry, but the attitude that most of us have about all these young people thinking that the state should be responsible for them WHEN they choose to be irresponsible. I disagree that it's okay for these kids to just think "Okay, well, the state can pay the bills, pay for my health care, give me welfare, etc. so I can have a kid and play house with my BF."
No, it's not okay.....its up to the PARENTS of today to raise their children to realize that their LIFE IS their responsibility.....It's sad when people think someone is picking on someone because they are on state aid.
AS I said previously there are people through no fault of their own (job loss, insurance lose, etc) that have to have STATE help. You don't decide that having sex with your BF without birth control is OKAY because there's a SAFETY NET out there to help you.
When my DH and I had our first child I was on the pill. He was in the service and we were under the understanding that because I got pregnant WHILE DH was in the US Army that they would pay for the birth 30 days AFTER DH mustered out of the US Army. When we did learn the truth, we began to save money....I worked overseas and my DH worked on POST because we knew a birth in the hospital and the baby's care was going to be $$.
When we came home, we had $4500.00 saved up for the birth, to be paid in CASH by US.
Imagine my shock when our families thought that we were NUTS for not applying for welfare!!!
When our son as born, I had some medical issues and I was kept for 5 days...instead of the normal 3 days back in 1975....my hospital bill that should have been $2200.00....was $4100.00. We didn't make a bill out of it (we could have, I know that.) but we agreed that we had set the money aside and it needed to be paid. We received the care and it was excellent for me and our son.
When our son was 4-5 months old I began to babysit my nieces and nephews during the day, and I worked part-time on week-ends as a nurse in the local hospital (back then I worked 8 hours from 3-11pm. We started saving again so that we someday could have a home, etc.
Sorry, but there's just way too many people that think it's the State's responsibility to pay your bills because you decided either not to use Birth Control or use the excuse (and LIE) to your parents that "the condom broke or the pill didn't work" (you have to take the pill to make sure it works)
(of course there are times when things DO HAPPEN....I get it....but there's a lot of B.S. out there too.
While we all have issues with health care here in the US......There's a lot of issues with socialized medicine too. I don't know if it is this way now, but I knew a gal that was Canadian as was her DH and her DH was diagnosed with a brain tumor and DIED waiting for the proper testing (CT-scan) He waited 5 months for that scan and died before he got it.
From what it sounds like things HAVE changed in Canada.....but I know from talking to patients who have Hydrocephalus as I do, that there are things that Canada won't do....such as give the Hydrocephalus patient a choice as far as the Programable Shunt to help drain away the CSF (Cerebral Spinal Fluid) from their brains (into their abdomen). The patients I've talked to say Canada won't let them have the Programmable Shunt made by Johnson & Johnson which is called "Codman-Hickman"......Canada uses the Metronic Strata Valve because it is cheaper. I know a woman that wants to come to the US so that she can get the Codman Hickman Programmable shunt here in the US.

So, there's issues in all types of things. People who abuse state aid.....we all probably know someone who has done it. I was bashed by my family for YEARS because I wouldn't LIE and apply for MEDICAID when we had our First-Born. (My parents were proud that I wouldn't lie...and I was too!)

There's a lot of things WRONG with the US.....but there's a lot of things RIGHT with our country too. If you've lived in another country, you'd know what I am talking about. I lived in Germany during the Cold War.....and there were differences. People in Foreign Countries think Americans are RICH......When we lived in Germany, THREE families lived in one home....the parents on the MAIN floor, the grandparents (usually the wife's parents) lived in an apartment in the basement (very nice apartments too!) and the young newly married couple lived in the attic apartment.
Those three families owned ONE CAR. That car was washed and taken care of EVERY SUNDAY. You weren't allowed to have a car with rust on it....if you were a German National, your car had to be kept in tip-top shape. The only people allowed to have a little bit of rust on the exterior of their cars were the American GI's ( the German government RELAXED some of their RULES for GI's to own cars...(back in 1973-75 you could buy a REALLY nice car that ran in tip top shape for about 4-5 bottles of Jim-Beam Whiskey!!! (I'm serious)
Sure, we all have things that are difficult in the US.....there's difficulties in all countries.
The problem is that all the people in "power" within the US have their HEALTH CARE taken care of for them....WHY? They certainly as Senators,Congressmen,Governors and on and on have enough $$ to pay for their own health care. Is this right? No, it isn't. Look at all the perks these people receive. Is that right? No it isn't...…

The sad thing is we all have opinions......

This will come off sounding heartless but in our county teen pregnancy is a crisis and social services is the largest part of our taxed budget . I have thoughts that we should not pay for pregnancy thru Medicaid...no prenatal care, no delivery or hospital! Yes, someone will die... Then maybe the glorified pregnancy will be thought through as risky. Our highschool has a daycare nursery and the girls are si!mply giddy over their creations! If one died from lack of care, maybe they would think twice...if the parent of the teen mother's were held financially responsible maybe they would watch after their children. I don't want to see people die or babies without care, but I think we need to rethink this risis.
In my day it was an embarrassing situation to be an unwed mother and girls we're sent away. That put some fear into some of us, I,e, me.

Actually I have always felt the parents should be made responsible for their mess, NOT the taxpayers. Jail a few parents, and maybe some would start to BE parents again.
