Default binding star quilt and tool

I must thank you forum member, for the dimentions for the binding star tool which DH lovingly made me from wood. I had the best time making this quilt and must thank Sharon Burris for the donation of the batik fabrics for the Shriner project.Click image for larger version.

    That turned out beautiful.

Curious, did you find using a wood template much different than an acrylic one?

Terry, absolutely stunning quilt. You continue to amaze me with your energy and talents. Give that guy an extra hug or two for his part in this last creation!

MGH Winnower is right you keep surprising me for his creativity and the love he puts in all his works, the quilting I love is really pretty and its quilted although it seems simple makes all the angles and the central star stand out, good work Terry and congratulations

He has made me several wooden ones. Some are hard to use as it seems the rotary cutter sometime will cut soft wood. I told him and he said that's because of the grain in the wood and so he cut this one so the edges are against the grain and I don't accidently shave off some. We are both getting better. lol. Anyway, I think it also has to do with the thickness and this time, the template is the same thickness as the acrylic ones. I'm thrilled. I don't use these specialty items enough to spend lots of $$ but this pattern was so much fun that I cut out another one. It is already pieced and ready to sandwich. The colors are so different you'd never guess its the same pattern.

Terry ~ Just beautiful! I've made only one baby quilt using the binding tool.
