Thought I had posted this earlier, but can't find it now... If this a duplicate post, please, dear admin folks, remove it!

Over a year ago, I asked for suggestions to make an airplane-themed quilt for my new grandson, which had been requested by his mom, my DIL. Another DIL found some cute fabric and bought a yard of it to see if I could use it. I loved it and was able to get more of it. I made a template on graph paper (with the help of the Internet) and some blender fabrics from my stash to make the appliques. (By the way, the feet are those of DS#9, NOT the 18-month-old!)

There was not enough of the airplane fabric for the whole back, so I pieced it. Then I remembered that I had a Kimberbell alphabet pattern, so I cut out DGS's name and appliqued the letters to the white strips on the back.

Not perfect by any means, but I'm happy with it overall. I should probably write down the lessons I've learned, so I don't forget them... Anyway, thanks for looking!
