Finally got this finished. It is fabric from a daily deal several months ago that seemed to be very old washed quilt looking on my monitor but ended up brighter when I received it. Still soft and beautiful, it inspired the scalloped edge. It was my first scalloped edge but was not nearly as daunting to do as I expected. IMG_0837.JPGIMG_0838.JPG
I did the scallop lines with a walking foot then filled in the space with small swirly fmq stitches.

Claire, that is one of the most fabulous quilts I have seen here. Your quilting is gorgeous. The scalloped edge is exactly what your quilt called for. Kudos to you for a gorgeous quilt...it looks like a family heirloom!!!

Claire that is very pretty & soft looking. Your scalloped edges turned out great too.

I'm not a purple fan, but I do LOVE Violet, so I guess that makes it extra beautiful to me.
