I absolutely love mine. I have learned to use the foot pedal with my left foot and the knee lift with my right leg; that way there's no confusion as to what side does what. Even if I don't use the knee lift, I still sew with my left foot.

I love my knee lift especially when I am sewing curves it is a necessity. I am currently working on a clam shell quilt, couldn’t get it done without it.

Thanks for the responses. I'll have to try using it. I can see where it would be great for applique.

I wish I was able to retrofit my Husq with a knee lift. I learned how to sew on my mom's singer with a knee lift and it would be so handy.

Enjoy life and do what makes you happy. Everything else will follow.

Every day I try to do one thing that challenges my comfort zone.

My Babylock Tempo has the pressure foot lever at the back of the harp (not quite in it) with the lever facing the right. With my previous JCPenney machine, it was at the back of the machine with the lever going back. It was an adjustment to go from holding my fabric with the right hand and lowering the foot with my left hand, to vice versa. I still try to use my left hand on the lever, and I've had the Tempo for five years.

I'm getting a Brother PQ1500SL for larger quilts and it comes with a knee lifter. I'm not sure if I'll use it or not.

I have a knee lift but have never used it. I can see the advantages when doing machine applique, will have to try it!

I have knee lifts in my Berninas.
I have used the knee lift from the
first day I bought the machines.
A great feature for quilters, you are
able to keep both hands on your
fabric while lifting your foot with
    the kneee lift.
    Couldn’t do without it.

I have to use mine because my machine (Bernina 770) does not have a presser foot lifter. Was a little strange at the beginning, two years ago, but it's easy to use.

I'm waiting for the "voice command" presser foot lift feature- "up," "down," "hover..." etc.
