Default Carolina, Duke and State (NC)

There's a whole lot of spit and vinegar in this quilt, but a whole lot of love too, and for any other cousin-in-law, I wouldn't admit it but we've always had a very jovial teasing relationship. Mike bought his wife a Shark steam mop for Christmas one year. We carried on for long time about him giving her a mop... and the only way it would be an acceptable Christmas gift in my eyes was if he was going to be the one using it. Come to find out, he was the one using it for her. Not sure if I had anything to do with that, but I'll accept the credit.

DH's cousin is a die hard Carolina fan (Carolina blue through and through). As for me, I grew up a Duke fan (Blue Devils) back in the days when they were the underdogs all the time, and my son went to NC State (Wolf pack- red). So, you can see where the tease is going.

I love the way the Stonehenge Gradations- Indigo, Red batik, play together in this log cabin. It was a quick quilt using Donna Jordan's Jelly Roll Log Cabin. There was enough fabric left over from making the 12 blocks to make a 3" piano key outer border.

It's going in the mail today, along with a lot of love and a lot of prayers for Mike's newest cancer journey. He's beaten lung cancer, and prostate cancer, now to beat these brain tumors!

That is a beautiful quilt! My husband had brain tumors, it is a hard road to travel, so my prayers go with Mike.

The colors are beautiful. I like the way you laid out the blocks.

We have family history of brain tumors as well. Thoughts, prayers, good wishes and love to your loved ones!
