40 by 80 with this math from https://weefolkart.com/jelly-roll-ra...number-strips/

    Here is my math.
32strips *40 equals 1280 inches first long strip
    640 inches at double row
    320 inches at four rows
    160 eight rows
    80 sixteen rows
    40 thirty two rows
So 40 is one sides measurement

We know your rows will be 2.5 wide with seam allowances
    So 32 x 2.5 = 80 inches is other measurement.

If you are wanting a twin size quilt, with the math above, you would need to add some borders to provide a drop on the sides and bottom.

Deegles, you can get the same final measurement, 40 x 80, a lot easier by not sewing them as a “jelly roll race” that would require sewing them end-to-end and then doing a lot of cutting. Instead, sew the strips together horizontally, as you would for a Rail Fence or a Bargello. Alternate the direction you sew the strips, so they will be straight when you finish sewing. That is very important, and it means to sew two strips together from left to right, then sew the next strip on from right to left, etc.

Since wof is 40-42 inches, the final width would still be 40-42, and the 32 strips would still finish at 2.5 inches each. 32 x 2.5 = 80 inches. So there’s your 40 x 80 that you would also get with a “jelly roll race.”

I didn’t see your question yesterday, or I would have posted this sooner.
