    Default fabric dye

I am working on a log cabin quilt from 2 1/2 strips. One strip I did not cut the boarder off but sewed it in the block. It is only about 1/4 wide and is white so was wondering if anyone has every used a black dye. The strip it is on is black and yellow striped. I would imagine unless you really looked you would not even see it but thought I would dye it black to blend in rather than keeping it white.

you might not have such a mess if you use a fabric pen. It would be easier to control where the dye went.

I agree, be sure to read the directions on the package, and set the dye. Be sure to use Color Catchers when you wash the quilt. You don't want the dye to bleed into your other squares.

I agree about using a permanent fabric marker so you can zero in on the area and not affect the fabric surrounding it.
