Yet another Flower Power stash buster, done and dusted!

Remember back in 2014 when Jenny did the tutorial on the exploding block? (No? Neither did I!). But I found some blocks in my stash using that technique, and my practice fabrics were charm squares from Big Lots! Remember when we were able to get those? (Cheap! But a bit ugly!)

So I thought, why not put these blocks together, quilt them up and have a finished quilt. Yes, now I have an UGLY finished quilt! Guess it is sort of cute, even with these gaudy colors!

Someone will absolutely love it. Not my colors, but it is cheerful and bright. It will still warm a baby!

I LOVE the exploding block. One of my favorite quilts was made with that block. Yours is quite pretty....here's mine...

I taught one of our tenants to quilt and the Exploding Block was one of her first projects.

your quilt is so pretty! I couldn't muster up any more interest than to make the quilt the size of the one pictured! With one little lonely block left over! You did great to make a huge quilt with that block! And no sashing!

Lol I have those jelly rolls. My ex mom in law sent me them...she didn't like me haha. Turned out nice though. I have the purple set too maybe I'll try that colorway.

I have an extra large quilt top I made using those jelly rolls. It was a demonstration quilt I used for a tutorial I did on how to make a queen/king size JRR quilts. They are so not my colors that I don't want to spent the time or the money for batting and backing to quilt it. I loved those purple and sage jelly rolls from Big Lots. I had another one that was yellow, red and brown. Made a lone star out of that one, and although I didn't like the color combination, it made a very pretty lone star quilt. My mother quoted her mother when she said " it's like making a silk purse out of a sow's ear". Yes, they turn out nice at times!

I like it...…...remember, there is NO ugly fabric! WE can always make something beautiful with ANY fabric.

Jean ~ If you belong to a quilt guild, they probably do donation quilts to the community. Some needy child would love your "ugly" quilt. The donated quilts from our guild go to policemen, firemen, sometimes hospitals, etc. Some child would love to snuggle with your quilt.

I found Jenny's tutorial for this at the first of the year and I have made 9 of this pattern for charity. I used charm packs I had got on sale and some scraps. I don't think your quilt is ugly and if you don't care for it, I agree with JCY there are so many people who would love and cherish it.
