Default My little furbaby, Maggie, lost her battle with cancer today.

It was a day we had been dreading. Dog lovers know the day I'm talking about. The one where we had to end the suffering Maggie bravely endured. I held her & told her I loved her & that it was okay to leave us. Don't think for an instant that I was okay with it, that I wasn't shedding so many tears I felt I was drowning. But. it occurred to me that our furbabies know when we're upset. So I stopped crying, kinda, &that's when I calmly told her it was okay that she'll run with the big dogs now. That our other furry babies, Lady, Duke & Little Bit was waiting for her at the Rainbow Bridge. There she'll never have cancer again & she'll have any treat she wants. We had to go to the post office on the way home. While I waited for DH to come out, I saw a flock of birds going around in a circle when suddenly one took off on his own. I was thinking that that little bird was escorting my Maggie home.

So, dog lovers everywhere, kiss your babies for Aunt Gina & help me not fall apart.

So sorry you had to make that difficult decision to end your Maggie's suffering....... For those of us that have had to make that choice before we understand just how difficult and selfless it was for you. I know she is running free of pain now. Try to take comfort in that.......

Ohhhhh Gina...I'm so terribly sorry you had to send your Maggie to the Bridge but you did the right thing if she was suffering. You were with her when she needed you the most. I know how much you loved her and how it hurts. My hugs & prayers are with you, Hon. Click image for larger version.

I teared up just reading your post. I know how you're feeling. We lost our chihuahua, Micki Doodle, and cats, Bo Sox, Maxwell, Dickens, and Harry. They take a piece of you with them. Hugs for you in your time of loss.

I'm so sorry for your loss. You were right wishing her pleasant journeys, where there is no pain or suffering.

    ~In Memory of Maggie~

I was just a pup when we first met, I loved you from the start.
You picked me up and took me home and placed me in your heart.
Good times we had together; we shared all life could throw.
But years passed all too quickly, my time has come to go.
I know how much you miss me, I know your heart is sore.
I see the tears that fall when I'm not Waiting at the Door.

You always did your best for me
Your love was plain to see,
For even though it broke your heart, you set my spirit free.
So please be brave without me,
One day we'll meet once more,
for when you're called to Heaven, I'll be Waiting at the Door.

I am so, so sorry. There is nothing so loving and loyal as the little friends God has given us to help us through life :-(
