Default Make a "Vintage Blossom" Quilt with Jenny Doan

    Enjoy !

    Have a great weekend !

God, Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The stash to make a quilt to help me cope,
A quilt to give to comfort those I love in times of hurt, fear and uncertainty.
And the courage to keep on sewing when life itself seems held together by a single thread of hope.

    Oh I love this one.
Blessed are the children of the piecemakers for they shall inherit the quilts!

I am always up for a 30's quilt! I do see how a portable design board would really help on this one.

Love this one! A lot easier than the Grandma's Flower Garden that I have been
working on for the last several years!

That looks easy. Except I think it would look better if all the centers were the same color. Something just looks a little off about it to me, I am not sure if it's the centers or what exactly.

Love this. Seems like a lot of pieces though but I might give it a try.

It sort of bothers me the way she "squares up" a block. I use a square ruler & evenly trim all 4 sides. Plus, I don't ever use the lines on my cutting board to measure. I use my rulers, which I feel are more accurate. It's a pretty quilt, but looks a bit tedious with all those small pieces that have to go around the sides.

I agree about using the same fabric/color for the centers. I always like the red prints in the 30's prints to be the accent, so I would probably try to do all the centers in red.

"Something off"...I thought the same thing. Finally figured out what it was for me. Traditionally most grandma's flower quilts the flowers aren't lined up so precise. They're usually staggered. Jenny's quilt is nice, but I feel it's too "square".

I like this one, but agree it's a little too square. I was thinking maybe color sashing, instead of white. For something a little more traditional, there's always Ingrid's Garden https://www.missouriquiltco.com/shop...-missouri-star, or the Easy Half-Hexagon from Block https://www.missouriquiltco.com/shop...-vol-5-issue-4. They use the larger template, but you could always switch it out for the smaller one...
