    Default Playing with EQ 8

    Hi

I have been playing with my new program EQ 8 and it is so much fun.

It is a very steep learning curve and I focus on one or two areas at the time but I am getting
to get the hang of it.

Here are some of my experiment quilts.

I am thinking of making the Roundabout star quilt. Or Kaleidoscope quilt. (Middle picture )Not sure of the name.

None of the colors is set in stone. I just wanted high contrast as I am learning the program.

    What do you think ?

God, Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The stash to make a quilt to help me cope,
A quilt to give to comfort those I love in times of hurt, fear and uncertainty.
And the courage to keep on sewing when life itself seems held together by a single thread of hope.

Thank you, I am already following that channel. She is a great teacher.

    Annika,

Is this the first time you have used a computer program or do you have experience with another one? I debate with myself all the time whether I would like a program or just keep using the tried and true graph paper and colored pencils....

    Hi

I had the EQ Mini before. It is basically a coloring quilt book . EQ 8 is so much more.

My experience with computer is work. office computer . But EQ is the first quilt related program.

It is easy and complex all at once. There are great article with step by step instructions on their website for free on different steps in the program so the support is great.

I am very happy that I decided to get it. I will use it for design and trying out new ideas .

I have EQ7 and sorry to say I haven't used it to design anything yet. I just took the book back out yesterday because I really want to learn how to use it. Maybe watching You Tube will help along with the book.
