Default Mini Half Hexagon template - need placemat ideas

Hi all - I've been asked to make 8 placemats for a single man and could use some fresh ideas. I have the various templates such as half hexagon and tumblers in large and small sizes. Does anyone have any ideas that use the the mini half hexagon? I'm thinking it's size would be perfect but I just got mine yesterday so i haven't used it and would love to share ideas. I've been asked to use blues and greys (no florals or pink). Thanks!

You could condense the pattern from layer cake squares to charm squares and design placemats with this tutorial!

A suggestion for a masculine touch, maybe use blue, grey and dark green to make half hexy braids. They can be quite stunning.
