Soluble thread and hand basting.
Thoughts on this? I hand baste my quilts and am wondering...why not use soluble thread so I don't have to snip it out after quilting...it'll just wash away when I wash it after completion. Thoughts?

Different way of doing this. I hand baste my Hawaiian quilts with a double strand of the thread that I will be quilting the quilt with. I start my hand quilting from the center in a 14" hoop. Since most of the basting starts in the center of the quilt, as I work my way through finishing hoop after hoop, I snip the knots off and pull the threads out of the way. When I have a thread long enough to quilt with I just snip it off, thread the needle and continue. I have a built in supply of thread already there to work with, no wasting of the basting thread.
